Chiropractic Nervoscope - Temperature as a tool

Chiropractic has been around for well over 100 years. It is a distinct profession and not part of the medical community. Unlike medical doctors, chiropractors are licensed to locate and treat Subluxations. This is written into our national and state laws. Subluxations represent areas of the body where nerves are being irritated. Traditionally Chiropractors will use palpation (touch), x-rays and standardized orthopedic and neurological testing to determine the location of a Subluxation. Some chiropractors like myself also use a device called a Nervoscope. This is a fancy name for a thermography machine. It will read the temperature of the skin on each side of the spine and indicate differences. There is no question that skin temperature is a useful diagnostic measure. It indicated many things in the patients body including dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. I use the Nervoscope on every patient before and then after treatment. I expect to see an immediate change if my treatment was successful. I also use blood pressure, pulse, blood oxygen levels and many other indicators to tell me if I have changed the nervous system. Many other doctors, who are not Chiropractic Doctors, criticize the Nervoscope as being non scientific. This is just ignorance. Since they are not trained in locating Subluxations (or legally permitted) they are drawing upon their medical training to understand what Chiropractors do. Temperature has always been a good indicator of body (nervous system) function. When used along with standardized tests the Nervoscope adds to the diagnosis. I preform a unique 10 point examination in my office that I believe is the most comprehensive evaluation offered in healthcare. The Nervoscope is a unique and useful part of that process. It is a device created by Chiropractors and use only by Chiropractors. Unfortunately as more and more Chiropractors move towards the medical model of treating symptoms they are losing the tools that make them a distinct profession. Tools like the Nervoscope. I encourage everyone to experience the difference a Nervoscope can make in patient results and Doctor efficiency. In many cases those that criticize the device do not have and advanced understanding of human neurology and the pathways that make it a great tool for patient care. You can read more about the Nervoscope on my Chiropractic web site, www.kingofchiropractic.com
